KYB 341354 or 341353 rear shocks for Legacy Estate?

Can anybody advise me about KYB 341354 rear shocks for a 2005 Legacy 2.0 GL Estate? I got a good deal on a pair of them, and they're supposed to be the right ones, but my mechanic thinks they're "wrong" because they're about 2" longer (approx. 7" from the centre of the mounting eye to the plate) than the old ones - so that the back end will be noticeably sticking up.

Could it be that the (seemingly original) rear shocks on my car were perhaps for a Legacy saloon instead? (In which case KYB 341353 would be the nearest replacement.)

And if so, which do you think would be best for my car, considering that I drive "enthusiastically" - but mostly on twisty/bumpy roads?

That list gives the Subaru part number as Subaru 20365AG100 (though it also mentions an alternative number Subaru 20365AG1009L, but doesn't explain the difference because there's a 505 Error when you click on the latter).

The YOYOPart website says KYB 341353 is a "Cross Interchange Part" for Subaru 20365AG100, but lots of other sites (including KYB's) say that KYB 341354 is the correct rear shock for the wagon/estate and 341353 for the saloon, but none of them specify the actual difference between them... :dontknow:

So I'm just as puzzled as ever... :ponder2:

I had the same problem when i changed the rear shocks in my wagon

I suggest you call a good motor factors and they should be able to tell you what the correct kyb shocks are

I used south side motor factors. they supplied me with the correct ones for a decent price

You are best to go by your chassis number and cross ref the oe part number.

I can price you on the kyb if want to send me your chassis number.

Thanks Dave, but it seems I can't send you a message through the ISDC site since I get a "You are not allowed to access this section" message when I click on your name and likewise on the RSR Automotive logo (maybe I need to subscribe in order to do so?), and the only RSR Automotive website I can find is in Bangkok... :eek2

So I'll post my chassis number here: JF1BP5KK45G019199

My email address is in my Profile.
