Labour Costs

Hi Guys,

Just looking for some thoughts on cost of having work done.

How much have you paid for work such as a timing belt?

Or for a general service?

NOT including parts, just the labour costs of working on such beautiful machines :D

timing belt would be the same as any other subaru, usually about 500-600 . supplied and fitted

depending on what a general service needs, oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs, coolant flush, check fluids probably another 300-400, plugs are a pain to do on these legacys

So your saying around 800 for labour costs alone?

Look n the traders section and contact one of them , they will give you a break down on parts and labour.

parts for a complete belt change/water pump tensioner and pulleys is near €400-450 alone last time I bought

In a main dealer or model pacific garage you will pay around 50 euro an hour labour, back street should be around 30 / an hour .

Timing belt will take about 4 hrs to do

Well, basically:

I sourced all the parts from Carrol & Roach and online at a cost of 800. (Oil included)
The labour is costing me 500.

I am strange in thinking 1300 is a bit much for a timing belt and service? Or would that be the norm for a Subaru? It wasn't a main dealer.

Parts: Timing belt kit(idlers, tensioners, belt), all filters, plugs, front bushes, front brake pads, oil pump, 6 litres motul 300.

Feedback appreciated.

Cheers.

You have specced alot more than the usual timing belt service there + brake pads etc but @€50 per hour thats 12hours labour which sounds allot..... Main dealers will be expensive.Have you priced any of the other traders on here? Contact details are provided

plugs and bushes are a pig to do on these i was charged 4 hours labour in carol and roche when they did them for me, and also engine is usually raised a bit to help swap on of the rear plugs on them 500 seems alright for labour

I guess i can't complain much so.

When is the BL5 meet happening? :D

I'll have pics up this weekend. The ordeal is just about over (ongoing since may!).

ill be heading to the terenure car show on sunday if your around. Might be one or two more BL5's going

For Cambelt service we are set price on Labour at e250.00

This is to change timing belt, tensioner, x4 idler pulleys. Drain coolant. Remove thermostat. Flush engine and radiator. Refit all and Bleed coolant system.

Can I ask you how much did C&R charge your for the Timing Belt Kit + Water Pump?

I'm going to get order the kit soon and just wondering about the price.

Trying to remember off hand (as don't have the invoice handy), but was around 300-400 for the timing belt kit (belt, idlers, tensioners) alone.

On another note, was down at the car show on Sunday. Saw 2 fine BL5's in the car park. I take it the black one was yours Dan? Who own the WR limited though?

Yea sweet mustang.

Tell him I'll swap my WR Limited for it! :p (blasphemy, i would never!)

Didn't even know ISDC had a stand at the show.
