Lads how do you manage without SUL?

I've done a few trips South in the Impreza now but I'm always careful to make sure I have enough fuel to get back across the border. The car is remapped for SUL so I wouldn't be keen risking 95 unless I had no other choice.

How do you all manage? I'm guessing everyone has a shelf full of octane booster?

or just have it mapped for 95 or if you get stuck and need to use 95 stay out of boost untill you can get back onto SUL

Close on everyone down here maps on 95 or 95 + booster it's the only safe way too much inconsistency in fuel here

While we are talking about it, does have any effect on the car if I get 98+ into standard 95 designed car? I guess not really, but not sure

Mapping wouldn't be terribly practical obviously, but there's so many great roads I'd love to take the car around that are well south of the border.

What booster are you all using?

I think most use the nf octane booster or lucas

I've 1 bottle of nf left over there if you ever down in Dublin and stuck it's yours

I've found NF black better than Lucas. Going to see how the Millers CVL Turbo compares to the NF.

How are you testing it?

To start off general drivability and see if there's any activity on the knock link. Too many variables to dyno test it with 100% accuracy and controls in place to make it fair. Can't depend on air temps etc being the exact same for a few power runs with NF and then a few power runs with CVL.

How she feels on the road is good enough for most.

I tryed them all in my old type r
NF was the only one that didn't make the knock link light up like a Christmas tree
Think millers was next best Lucas was sh1t

Depends where u are I'm in Dublin used to get mine from Ciaran asd automotive in walkinstown he's got the black nf the proper stuff

Must get on to him. How much is it a bottle.
Was chatting joe power and he told me it's the only stuff to use before I map for Irish fuel

Sorry I ment €18 each. :D

I have a bottle of CVL turbo in now with 50 litres of petrol. Not a peep out of the knock link.
