Lads can anyone gimme some advice here, Lambda was reading 0.00v on the power fc so I replaced it, started reading aroud 0.84v with the new one, two days later it was back to 0.00v. Replaced it again and back to 0.84v, now its back to 0.00v. what the feck is goin on?? Any Idea what a genuine senso costs?? I'm afraid i'll splash out a couple hundred quid for it to last only 2 days again

€250 ish off Finnigans in ballymahon, had to get one for the test a few months ago, car is 100% , better off getting the right one and be finished with it,

I have fitted nearly 40 universal sensors in Impreza's, Evo's and Cossie's in the last few years, and have never had a problem. Bad connection ?, the wire's on a lambda sensor can be a bitch to solder, and some crimps supplied are not great,

I cut the crimps that came on the sensor and used male and female spade connectors. Made sure I crimped the connectors as tight as possible :ponder2:

Could they be blowing because the car isn't mapped yet? :dontknow:

Would this effect the car in this way?

You should not be soldering lambda sensors as this will affect the reading on them. On narrow bands like the stock sensor, the effect is probably not so bad. However, if you do that on a wide band, all the readings become skewed. They need to be crimped.

When it reads 0.00v, is that at WOT or at idle? Is the power FC mapped or is it running off a base map?

If possible, you should be getting original lambda sensors if possible or a good make like Bosch or NGK/NTK sensors. The universal ones are fairly crap. Once you up the horsepower on the cars, we have seen Skylines and big power EVOs blow the universal ones in one power run.

the power fc is mapped but not since the engine was re done. Gonna get a genuine one and not fit till mapping day

does the voltage not flucuate on the sensor continously according to the air/fuel mixture reading at the cat?????
IMO use a genuine sensor
i would also prefer to solder wires so as to avoid a drop in resistance
