Leaving a car for 4 months

another wee tip don't leave handbrake up or u might find brakes seized wen ye come back to car, stick a brick behind the wheels

Parked my Type R up for 12 months. Started first time for me. Had 4 flat tyres though and millions of spiders living in it

Nice wee tip thanks

Before you start it up after 4 months.... disconnect the 4 leads at the coil pack and turn car over a few times.... it allows the oil to be re-distributed & pumped around engine and prevents possible initial oil starvation on start up that could do unwanted damage... (not guaranteed to happen....but better safe than sorry)

Some one told me before you should jack the car up if been left parked up for a few months due to the weight sitting on one part of the tyre for so long it can cause the tyres to crack

I think its more to do with the temperture than the weight. Its the hot then cold temps combined with the weight in 1 spot that causes a tyre to perish. But it would take more than 6 months AFAIK.

I had my 2.5 parked up for over a year and he started first time without issue, other than 1 tyre going flat they had not perished either. But the tyres were crap to begin with so I changed them anyway
