leaving subaru ownership

That sucks dude....there has to be someone out there with cheaper insurance for ya....???

I don't understand this at all. I thought insurance companies had to quote you if you told them you owned the vehicle. I got a renewal with quinn for the B4 (a little different I know but the seem to have copped onto what they are) its was under 1k. 24 3 points 5yrs ncb. And thats fully comp and protected.

I don't get why they have such a problem. Its all the grannys and the black women in thier micras that are causing all the accidents (not a racist - work with them everyday  )

The fact that your outta work and have finance on it makes it a good idea to throw the keys back at them, its a good oppertunity cause with the prices of cars these days you'll be at a serious loss when ya come to sell

Anyway best of luck mate

I'd try some of them again. Sure if u ring some of them twice within a few minutes they'll give u a different quote. DONT SELL !!!!

sorry to hear this mate. if its a case that nobody will cover you, i think theres a thing that if you get three letters from different insurers saying they wont cover you, the fourth company has to insure you. or something like that im not 100% sure but you should look into it. maybe the financial services ombudsman could give you advice if you rang them?

its very strange im with quinn 22 on a jap type r with 3 years ncb and full license for a year :dontknow:

on the other hand you could start the policy on another car, then ring them and permanently change to your scooby within the first week! the rule being they have to quote you if you already have a policy with them and it could work out cheaper, thats what i did. best of luck anyway!

Oh lad so sorry 2 hear tis, dont know if u've tried 123.ie. Insurance company im wit is Probus Ireland. Im 26 been wit dem 2 yrs and paying under 1600. Just said il let u know. Really hope lad u get sorted...

jesus sorry to hear this bud , when you tried quinn direct was it just the sti they would nt insure or just imprezas :ponder2: , cause im with them last 2 yrs with no problems :dontknow:

It should never be a case of insurance being to expensive,
This is simple, if you have a full licence and don't mind driving with 3rd party only insurance
1: Buy a sh1t box mirca van for €400
2: Insure it privately with quinn direct 3rd party only with 3rd party extension for €400
3: Drive your scooby! paying €800 this year and €400 every year there after!
No catches,
Why aren't more people doing this!
I did this for years and had a serious road traffic accident while insured like this in which the Gardai arrested and prosicuted the other driver, and there were no issues with my insurance!
Dan

yea but Dan, he coudnt be the registered owner of his scooby then, hed have to put it in someone elses name... :ponder2:

Bloody hell, sorry to hear it mate :angry1: know how you feel tho i'm in the same boat! Got a quote through firstireland with a crowd called xsdirect for €1600
