Legacy - 2ltr Twim Cam Engine - timing belt question!

Hi all,
New here!
I have a question hopefully someone can help me with...I have a 6 year old legacy 2ltr jap import, twincam, and I need a new timing belt. Now, the problem is, the last 2 or 3 mechanics i talked to said that they werent sure what type of timing belt i might need for the car, as there COULD be a difference between the single cam and twin cam engine...apparently there aint a lot of twimcams around???
Anyone any idea about whether its the same timing belt for both engines, or if there is a specific one to fit the twim cam engine...dont want it to blow up!!!

Think you need a proper subaru mechanic ,

take a look in our traders section ,

Ali burrows up north , Asd in Dublin , sti tuning in meath ....................loads of choice :thumbsup:

One of the Traders here should be able to give you a goo price

on doing the job.
 
there has to be a difference between the single cam and twin can in lent.

if you give your chassis no. to a subaru garage they will give you a part no. for the belt
 
now that i think about it there cant be a single cam flat four, only twin cam and quad cam.

so they cant be hard to find, all the i.6 engines are twin cam arnt they???
 
If its a 2 litre turbo jap import and 6 year old its a twin scroll model. In which case you can get the parts from Subaru dealer with chassis number. Not sure how good those 3 mechanics are if they didn't think of that! Maybe they were talking about it being twin scroll or single scrol
