Havent been on here in a while because i lost faith in Subaru. I bourght a 2009 legacy diesel in in Limerick, had intermittent knocking on engine when hot and also first thing in morning, also had vibration running through the car at 2000revs, in to the dealer several times (12-13 times) never sorted, eventually swapped it for another 2009 Legacy diesel, love the car again, engine perfect but the vibration has appeared again on this car, does anyone else have this problem, it runs through the car mainly in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears, it is obviously a legacy diesel problem, i have had 3 petrol and 2 diesel legacys in past 9yrs and only the diesels have caused me issues, if there are others experiencing this i am going to take it further because subaru do not seem interested in my problems

have not much experience with legacy diesel but most diesels nowadays are the same setup by that i mean common rail injection and dual mass flywheel ,both are known for failing my partner has a 10 diesel focus and its had 2 flywheels fitted{she does a lot of miles} for a similar problem to what your sayin flywheels dont like stop start drivin so if used in traffic alot they will get rattly.does the engine rattle when you turn it off?just as its stopping

It`s a common problem with diesel legacy. The dual mass flywheel is giving a lot of problem ( valeo in a subaru 
)
They can change it to traditional single one which solves the problem for good.
