Legacy exhaust sounds ...please

I know this should probably be in the "what exhaust" section , but can the mods leave it here for a while and then move it ..

Basically i got my new two year NCT yesterday :wazzup:, and now i want some proper rumble from my car..
So im asking can all legacy owners who have modified exhausts please put up a video what they have of how they sound..

I've been looking on youtube and all i can find is impreza's

I'm thinking of a haywood and scott axleback , an maybe some decatting , but sure show me what you got and something might catch my ear

Hi Fella I put a Magnaflow cat back on my B4 and it has a nice low rumble not to loud but loud enough to make you smile I had it done At Souans in Trim very nice guys cheers John L.
 
well yeah john, thats what im loking for ...
not something that will wake the whole apartment block when i turn her on in the morning ... but something that will produce the distinctive burble , and give a bit of a roar when stepped on ...

not too loud that the cops will intervene though ...

rock ...me .... hard place

if you could throw up a vid it would be great , and is it a bolt on/weld on , oh and most importantly how much ...

lot of questions i know , but i wanna get the right one
 
OK Mmmmmm Iam not very good at that you tube thing,anyway I paid about 400 euro which is good I think, and he will do full de cat if you want and Im nearly sure it was welded into place but its a nice neat job and as I said nice to deal with and you can bater with him cheers John L.

I have a syms exhaust on my b4 which was on the car when i bought it there is a rumble off it but nothing too mad think they are 650dollars for a back box new though :wall: anyway i did buy a universal exhaust from ashely in england made to my requirments think it worked out at around 120euro and got it fitted with a center de-cat and there is a lovely rumble off it, not loud in the car at all just a small humm but the legacys are well sound insulated anyway, i always thought it was quite but my mate with a type r said that outside you would have no doubt it was a scooby comming :icon_headbang: but not too over powering never got pulled with either :icon_blahblah: id stick up a vid but after taking off the ashely back box cos have my nct in a week or two so put on the other one for the decable readings just in case :icon_rolleyes:

bit too pricey for me,

ideally id like a bolt-on, axle back , with room for a exhaust control valve.....cos i am not spending another day in court over a loud exhaust ....
 
I've a decatted centre section mated up to a ZeroSports backbox only done recently and have to say i love it so far. Tried getting a sound clip but it doesn't sound near the same on the clip. Sound isn't in your face loud but there is a nice rumble from it now which is all i wanted.

which model legacy do you have as the BE5 and BL5 models sound totally different. equal vs unequal length headers.
 
I have a BE5 ... i went and ordered a H+S axle back today , 260 sterling + shipping which aint too bad ,,,
will horse a video up as soon as i get it put on ....

cant wait

Did you order the 3.5 or 4.5inch tailpipe version?
 
Had initially been after a 3.5inch , but after talking to davelegacy and even the guy in H+S sales dept , i went for the 4.5inch , as the 3.5 inch was deemed to be too quiet ....

will be putting in an ECV in the system to get me around gardai checkpoints ....
i presume the standard pipe size in a B4 is 2.5 inch yeah ???
 
Good stuff, the 4.5 is mental loud

Standard exhaust is 2.5inch, the pipe does narrow where the backbox meets the centre section though, not sure what diameter that is, can check tonight though
 
know its a bit late for anyone else wanting to hear exhaust notes before buying, this is a Blitz Nur Spec R, have a decat downpipe fitted

Best of luck with the H&S exhaust, get a clip up soon!

 
Dats savage :lol: would ye get a bit too much unwanted attention tough :ponder2: any suggestions what would be? as im looking at taking off the standard one from my 99 b4...cheeers :thumbsup:
