Legacy front n/s brake caliper

So it turns out my smoking clutch is the result of a sticking front n/s brake caliper.

Anybody got one (or a good pair - might upgrade) they don't need, that would be suitable for an 00-reg 2-litre Legacy?

No joy, so I had to cough up for a new one in the end - 325 yoyos + VAT + postage off C&R - ouch!

But at least they had one in stock, and the guy in Parts there seemed very much on the ball - even rang me back when he said he would...

yeah there reliable alright..i only sold a full set of front brakes for a b4 last month..would of bolted straight on to yours

I know, I noticed that - I'd have jumped at them if I'd realised, in fact I should probably have seen the warning signs sooner and bought them off you... :(

Hopefully I'll get the car back again at the weekend, after its month's holiday, and hopefully I'll get out of Galway without incident this time - fingers crossed!

I Know a mate that upgraded the front calipers in the last B4 he had, I don't know if he has the old set,
I'll enquire for ya !.

Just had a phone call from Peter O'Toole (not the actor, the mechanic) in Galway to say the car is ready, so C&R must have sent the caliper out very promptly, and I'm going up there this afternoon. Yippeee!!!

Drove back from Galway with no problems last night, but this morning I set out to go to a funeral and the clutch self-destructed a few miles out of town. :hang:

They say trouble comes in threes (top radiator hose, brake caliper, clutch, all in the space of a month), so hopefully that's my lot?

If not, anybody got a can of petrol...

keep the faith brother! some day soon everything will feel perfect and you will tap the dash and smile

I was doing that last night, driving back from Galway - it was such a joy to have the Legacy back, after a hired Ford Focus. But I was about ready to torch the da_ned thing this morning...

Won't I have to get it mapped first?

Good to see you still have a sense of humour after all this, hopefully thats your lot now & things are on the up from here on

Clutch replaced and grin back on face :D

I just need to find the money to pay the road tax on it now - expensive month! :(
