i was considering a pre 98 legacy gtb estate am i mad? im probably going to go to england to get one just off the boat from japan but english reg and de limited.

should i get manual or automatic?

i have a wreck of a landcruiser for daly hacking so i will be minding it.

I live in a fairly remote area so id say revenue should let me alone (untill i get caught!)

am i mad? :ponder2:

a mate just bought a new diesel legacy and he reckons its the dogs bollox
 
Type uk legacy into google and see what you make of the comments there-an awful lot of that model on there.
 
I'm no expert but from what i've read, the pre 98 leggy's cant be remapped. You have to get a piggyback ecu. Not sure what the costs involved are.

Someone here should be able to give you a definitive (and more knowledgeable answer!!)

ah they're the buisness, i love my one, great comfort, great power and nice styling if you get a few bits on it!! not sure bout the mapping tho

mmmmmmmmm, thats the only problem i have, diagonal all the way over any ramp i come in contact with!! annoy everyone when they're behind me, and also the people coming towards me cause im right over their side coming over the ramps so they've no choice but to give me space!!!
 
thanks for the advice lads.

i spent a bit of time in new zealand and legacy estates were everywhere so i got a bit of a soft spot for them.

i think if i run octane booster i wont have to get it remapped.

kincknack thats a lovely car, my local roads wouldent be kind to that bodywork!

I also want to put manners in the local hoodie population in 1.3 civics

Dont think the fuel in Japland was 102 before 98 anyway. So if you run it on E5 here you probably won't even need booster. AFAIK the ron was 98 in Japan back than? Could stand corrected on that?!
