can anyone tell me the correct offset for legacy wheels, i have 18's at the minute and find there rubbing the arches a bit, i dont know what offset they are maybe there right and would i be as well off go back to 17's? thanks, alan,
Yeah those tyres are too wide. I had 225/40/16 on my car before without issue but they where nice and small. I tried 225/45/17 off a newage and they rubbed like crazy
215/35/18:
Section Width: 215 mm
Rim Diameter: 457.2 mm
Rim Width Range: 7 - 8.5 in
Overall Diameter: 607.56 mm
Sidewall Height: 75.184 mm
Radius: 303.78 mm
Circumference: 1908.5 mm
Revs per Mile: 869.5
225/40/18:
Section Width: 225 mm
Rim Diameter: 457.2 mm
Rim Width Range: 7.5 - 9 in
Overall Diameter: 637.03 mm
Sidewall Height: 89.916 mm
Radius: 318.51 mm
Circumference: 2001.2 mm
Revs per Mile: 829.3
If you look at the Revs per mile you'll see that the 35 are faster than your 40's so you'd be quicker too
