Hi everyone

as some of you may know i bought my 2003 impreza 1.6 AWD at christmas.

today i received a letter in the post from Subaru Ireland called ''Subaru impreza / forester safery Recall.

basically it outlines that i must bring my car to a subaru dealer, because they believe that due to roads being salted during winter months is corroding the transfer links ( lower control arms on the front) its goes on to say that if inspected by the dealer technicians and all is well with them they will coat it with anti-corrosion protection and if they need replacing then Subaru will also replace the lower control arms with brand new ones at free of charge. GO SUBARU!!! :subaru:

i am just wondering did anyone else recieve this letter before?
got it checked? and what was the outcome?

suprised i hadnt heard of this before :ponder2:

intersting

good thing about JDM cars is that salting roads is illegal in japan so i read.

i also read on another forum that to date there have been no lower control arms replaced in ireland due to this problem.

very small number of areas suffering from this worldwide it looks

The recall effects all EU impreza/forester of same years.
`02 1,6 German impreza last summer
