Letters from Main Dealer to aid cars passing NCT Emissions Test!?

Hi Folks,
Found out today that if your car is an import and you get the main dealers to verify that it is an import than the car only has to perform within the limits of the country of origion. I.e. what ever the emission limits in japan are is the limits the car must perform to during the test.....

Can anyone veryify this?

Also just like to say im after getting a 2.5 year NCT on my car! Extremely happy :icon_biggrin: :icon_grin:

Heard something similar before but was only on cars predating '95 or something like that.
 
The "shaken" or the japanese NCT as its known is widely regarded to be a very strict test , so i dont know if thats gonna be any advantage to us ....
 
As above, it is an advantage on pre 95 cars after that its far more strict than our nct rules and no use to us
