What is going on??!!!no win in 2009 as of yet chelsea on sunday another tough game!!benitez goin mad with his team line ups??alonso and riera on bench last night why??then takes off gerrard and torres???sorry rant over :angry1: :angry1:

What makes me laugh is that he replaced Torres with a Midfielder and then Gerrard with Keane.

Oh well, Man U supporter anyway lol

:icon_nana: :icon_nana: :icon_nana:

sorry about that had to be done. Rafa has got it wrong in my opinion. Too many wrong decisions. Folding under pressure. Liverpool are a UEFA cup team without Gerrard.
Then theres the Keane issue. Did Rafa actually want him or was it Rick Parry that bought him and Rafa doesnt know what to do with him?

I think the commentry guy on yahoo sums it up.

"LIVERPOOL SUB: Benitez finally brings on Keane but OH NO WHAT IS HE DOING!!?? He takes Gerrard off. Gerrard!! The only man who scores late goals for you all the time! Your best player! After taking off your second-best player, the person next most likely to score late goals etc etc. I give up."

"LIVERPOOL SUB: Sometimes I want to do painful, tortuous things to Rafa Benitez, like he does to me. He has taken off Torres - the only striker - and brought on Riera - a winger. Even though Keane and Kuyt are on the bench. AAARRRGGGGHHH!!!"

  no liverpool supports replying back yet..ha i knew id get this response lol!!!
@andyc think your right there he hasent got a clue what to do with keane that table looks about ryt!! :icon_sad:..but we must soldier on and watch rafa make mad decisions and drive liverpool supporters mad..must say o neil doin a great job with aston villa

could be a decent bet depending on the odds?

Liverpool pushing their luck a bit too far at this stage, 8 league wins so far but only one by more than the odd goal = poxy :icon_rolleyes:

My point is more that Liverpool's season could be hugely different already at this stage. I'm not as inclined to agree that grinding out a win playing badly is a sign of a good team, I think over a 10 game spell your performances indicate whether you're a good team or not. In this case Liverpool have only had about 2 above-average performances so I'd be a bit worried about the wheels coming off.

This slump has been coming since the start of the season and our generally poor form was only disguised by the mixed form of the normal top 3.

Sure we've less points than last season - progress my arse!!

@nodge well said progress me arse, what we need new owners and a new manager to clear out the likes of lucas babel benyoun dossena, and the list goes on!!

Unfortunately that’s what Liverpool has needed since Graeme Souness…..someone to clear out his abysmal collection of under-talented players, someone to clear out Evans’ overpaid, under-committed Spice boys, someone to clear out Houllier’s French-speaking bad buys and now somebody to clear out Benitez’s Spanish-speaking bad buys. (Apologies in advance to Lucas who probably hates people saying he speaks Spanish because of course he is Brazilian, but as Mark Lawrenson said, “If he’s Brazilian, I’m Chinese!”

There’s a guy called Steven Kelly that a lot of Liverpool supporters will know, former editor of the fanzine TTWAR and writes a column in the Examiner still I think. He has been flagging since mid 2006 that Benitez is in fact Houllier all over again, and he’s received a lot of flak for that opinion……..but you know what – he’s dead fucking right!!

Benitez’s football is slightly better (nothing could be as bad as Houllier 03/04), but he has a negative streak that completely undermines the potential of this team…..All very well if you’re trying to win a European Cup with Houllier’s leftovers in 2005 but it backfires if you’re trying to beat Stoke or Fulham at home!
His signings don’t suggest that he is necessarily better than Houllier either, they are so contaminated with total flops that they drag the good ones down. What Benitez had in his favour early on was that his expensive signings didn’t do too badly, but when he bought cheaply he bought rubbish. He moved the rubbish on and it didn’t cause too many problems. More recently we have bought expensive and not got value for money (Babel 10M+, Keane 20M possibly the Diao and Diouf of the new era???) Throw in his outbursts and strange assertions in the press along with him being in hospital (only messing with that one) and hey presto! Gerard Rafa Houllier Benitez!!!!

Sorry for rambling…….
