I will only say one thing to the rest of u united supporters......
come talk to me when youve won 5 of these :hjtwofinger:
That’s not the point anymore though Chris, is it?
When they’ve won 3, (2 in the last 10 years), and we’ve won 5, (4 in 8 years, but 25 years ago), and we’ve won 18 and they’ll pass that out and then they have more FA cups, and blah blah blah…
At that stage Liverpool fans need to shut up and look at what’s going on in their own club for the last 20 years. United have more money than God at the moment, could probably sell Ronaldo for £70M this summer and still win the league next year. We laughed when the Glazers arrived (oh how we laughed!!) But now we have 2 American fools and their retarded offspring doing their best to obliterate our club, along with a chief executive who clearly was beaten and wet the bed as a child. Combine all that with a manager who seems to be incapable of focusing on his own job for more than 5 minutes due to his obsession with having someone else to blame for his woes and we are well and truly f**ked!

I know I’m incredibly pessimistic but it hasn’t served me badly over the last 19 years and on days like today it really helps to deal with the harsh reality of Lucas Leiva playing central midfield for Liverpool Football Club!!!

My problem with benitez is he isn't bringing local young talent through..Liverpool(like utd) have always had great links with the surrounding communities bringing their young talented players through..are you telling me there's no one in the youth system better than Kuyt? or Lucas? Benitez has failed the club IMO..no matter what criticisms you level at Ferguson and there can be many, he always brings talent through and gives them a shot..
Not only does this provide them all with incentive to do well but it also puts them in the shop window for other clubs to come and have look...after Gerrard and carragher finish what merseyside lads are coming through?

As a Liverpool supportet I have to say nodge and dagnut have pretty much summed it up,
we ve made as much progress under benitez as we are ever going to make
Im definetly not one of the "In Rafa we trust" brigade.
I think there are a few major problems with the club

1. Ownership: Hicks n gillets loan is up in june, and with RBS recording massive losse last week and the current credit crunch re-financing the loan is going to be very difficult and under these 2 we will not have money for a new stadium, buying quality players we need to compete for the title etc
and the two of them dont get on, one wants out the other wants to stay and wont let the other one out

2. Rafa: He is far too negative and his tactics are causing us problems. against the bigger sides and in europe his tactics work because these temas come to play and the side is well set up to stifle that threat but against the lesser sides we just dont have the imagination and tactics to brake down mass defences. Was in Anfield in September for the 0-0 with stoke and its a perfect example of our problems.

3. Transfer policy: Who decides who we buy?? based on rafas contract refusal partly due to him not having control over who he brings in. is parry in charge??(hope not!!) or is it hicks and gillett? we really have brought in some mediocre players in the rafa and oullier eras. yes there have been some graet signings, torres, alonso, reina, skertel agger but for every one of those there are 2-3 failures and a lot of wasted money!!!

4. Rick Parry. Enough said ( he's alot of the reason for problem 1)

5. Youth policy.Look at arsenal/wengers youth poliy( i know thry have other problems but them "kids" can play!!) ours is well summed up by dagnut

rant over phew!!!

are biggest problem is/was we won the campions league with this muppet benitez, if we didnt he would be gone!

keane wasnt the answer, seen as benitez wanted barry and perry bought keane instead, two wrongs dont make a right

Definitely another aspect of it. Things dried up under Houllier given his reluctance to accept any player into the first team squad that wasn't as talented as Gerrard.
Rafa came in and saw there was a problem with the supply line and decided to try and do a Wenger - ie. buy talent young in the hope that they'll mature into quality first team players. This has meant a flood of talented foreign kids in our academy and just as many "average" older imports floating around our first team squad. Hard to see where the next home grown kid will get his break!

no its not nodge.... i totally agree with ya...... only stuck that up cause i was in work and someone had to stem the flow of Man united supporters quickly :icon_rolleyes:

in short the club is in no mans land.....we have a lack of money or access to it, no firm future (feckin yanks) , a team half full of amatuers and a manager who just seems to be loosin it all togther..... it is amazing we are in third @ the mo...

dont get me wrong 1st or 20th i will support liverpool but we do need a totally new direction if we are to compete @ the highest level again and not just punch about our weight @ times..

It is crazy they way things have gone for Liverpool of late, I dont care though, ill always support them, no matter what. i do reckon Parry was behind the Keane transfer, hes a fooking eejit, Gareth barry was far the better choice, I guess were just gonna have to wait and see what happens now, as said above, were lucky to be in the position we are in the premiership, and i do think its time for Rafa to throw in the towel as i dont think we can achieve anymore major silverware with him in charge.

Id love to see Martin O Neill in charge but thatll never happen now!!!!
It's funny how opinions differ - I couldn't see any sense in signing Gareth Barry at the time and it still fails me????

As for Martin O'Neill, I could take hin or leave him really.......

isn't funny from one of the greatest teams of modern time, Steve McMahon, Jonnie Barnes, Aldridge, Rush, Beardsley, Jan Molby..all brilliant players and with out the european ban would of easily won another European cup..none have had successful management careers? odd one that

@Nodge, I always thought that Gareth Barry would have brought something extra to liverpool, Parry should of released the funds for him no matter what the odds were as it looks like he had the money after all but just seemed that he wanted to call the shots and not back benitez at the time, fooking pri*k, Ive a constant headache over the team i love so much...partly down to the non stop slaggings from the man u scum supporters in work...and me brother, and me da..who follows Arsenal I wouldnt mind!!!!
