Lookin for subaru

The car you buy may well be down as a 2.0 litre on the book. However once this car has been insured properly once as a turbo in the past then Insurance companies are aware of this and when you ring to get a quote as a 2.0 litre they will correct your "mistake" and you will be stuck with a car you cant insure.

Ah yeah... ignorance is bliss... :snooty: how you claim you didn't know it had a Turbo.

It may have happened to your mate... but that's not to say you'll get away with it. Insurance companies hates these cars and will do whatever they can to get them off their books... or worse yet not pay out on a claim.

If you do crash.. and the insurance company won't pay out.. the other party has to claim either on their own policy or through the Motor Insurance Bureau of Ireland. In 2010 they paid our 59 million for un-insured claims... a cost of which is passed onto all of us insured drivers at approx 40 euro extra on our premiums annually. Therefore we are paying for the likes of yourself who aren't willing to pay for the correct coverage.

At the end of the day.. if you can't afford the correct insurance... don't buy one til you can.

That's what I had to do 10 years go when I bought my first Turbo at the ago of 27... I would have loved one when I was younger but not a the price of doing it illegally!
