Malfunction Indicator Lamp

Hi all,
The above has came up on the car for the emission control system and stays on steady.

The only thing that I have done recently which was different to usual was jump starting it on Saturday and the lamp came on a while later. The battery is on it's last legs and I didnt move the car for a few weeks hence it wouldn't start.

Haven't driven the car since, apart from driving back home after the lamp came on - taking it easy!

Any advice on what to do?

Try resetting the ecu.. leave it disconnected for 30mins or so.. its possible the jump may have thrown up the error..

I'll try that and see what happens.

It didnt come on straight away, I left the car ticking over for about 15 minutes and then went to drive into town and after about 4 or 5 miles it came on, this was just after opening it out a wee bit.

Done that and it cleared the error, took it for a good spin and the error has not returned, so I'll keep an eye on it in case it returns.
