Was wondering what the best way to identify a proper 96 mcrae edition impreza.The one i was looking at has the bootlid emblem,abs,seats with the emblem an them,not sure an the tinted glass,couldnt see any plaque inside,the alloys were changed,and had red suspension front and back,is there anyway of know from the chassis number,thanks.
 
If its a 555v ltd it will be colour code 53c and chassis will start GC8C4DD Gearbox will be ty753vb4ca i think looking at photos of mine and it should be a model year 96. All ra's will have dccd, fifth injector on manifold and the aeriel is on the A pillar not the rear quarter, along with roof vent and ltd edition seats. The numbered plate is on the back not the interior although if the seats are correct they will have mc rae's signature on drivers side and ringer on pass side.

The UK Series Mc Rae is the only really proper Mc rae they all have a unique recaro interior and identifying plaque on dash they were all mica blue and went from 1 to 201 skipping 13 if i remember right just watched the impreza dvd on youtube

 
if your on the look out for a uk one johnl on here had his 95 uk series mcrae for sale a few months back....
 
Thanks for the help lads,this one is a jap,1000 of them made,i think they are meant to have a serial number printed an a plaque inside some where but cant see it,i taugh this was around the gearstick,handbrake area.

Would this be the same an this car?
 
Jap McRae Sti ra's did NOT come with abs as you said in your opening post the one your looking at has and there was 555 made not 1000 your looking at a Wrx v limited...

Are these know as a McRae edition or are just a model that was brought out after winning the 95 championship?Whats a Wrx v limited worth,very good condition 60k miles.
