Mini problem

Hi guys my best mates fiancé has an 05 mini and the lights come on of there own accord and won't turn off. Keeps running down the battery. Now I just disconnected the battery for tonight so she can start it for work in the morning. Anyone have any experience of these cars doin thus. Would it be a common fault or us there an easy fix. All help would be gratefully appreciated.

Seen similar issue on a ford focus and it was a fault in the body control module
