Morning all,
I was on the way to the gym this morning on the M50 (southbound between Lucan and Red Cow), about 6:50am.
The car in front of me drove over a sheet of mdf/plywood which had obviously fallen off of something earlier
The sheet of wood (about 6-8 feet wide) hit the front of my car, damaging the bumper, lower grille, main grille, bonnet and completely ripped the bonnet scoop off
Luckily nothing hit the windscreen - the scoop flew over me and into the road, along with the wood sheet which shattered into pieces.
I called the Gardai to report it and to tell them about the debris in the road, they came and out and took my details.
I drove past about 30 mins ago and there are bits of my car in the central reservation
Needless to say I now won't be able to go to the bbq and world record attempt at the weekend
Anyway, I'm ok and I'll be getting the car sorted on my insurance (protected no claims thankfully
)
Cheers,
Steve
