Mobil 1 15w50

have you tried our new bridge its only 2 euros to practice standing starts from the barriers

bye bye barrier :mooner:

must check it out!

So Opie Oils recommended me to use 10w50 for mine, i think i would be cutting it close on time before the track day if i was to order through them

so does it make a difference if you go from using fully synthetic to semi? 10w60 is more for older engines from what i have read. I might just switch to the Castrol magnetec 10w40 semi or the Mobil 1 Super 2000 X1 which is actually fully synthetic

Wont make a difference if you wash through a half litre or so after a full drain...basic rule of thumb is fully synth has higher tolerance to heat, will last longer.

Maybe the Mobil 1 Super 2000 X1 will do the job so, 10w40 and fully synthetic, im wondering of it offers the same cold start protection as the Castrol magnetec. i doubt ill be bashing the car too much on the track day anyway!

Local tractor parts place down here has 15w50 mobil 1 unbelieveably enough-and hasn't sold even one can of it in 6 months-prob cos he wants €72 for it and mine is the only subaru around here

it wont on initial start up but fully snyth does operate better in cold as well as hot..I wouldn't have anything but the best oil in for a track day...you can still us it on the road then after for a 1500kms or so then when it gets colder switch to a thinner oil

So doing some more digging and looks like Millers 10w50 and Fuchs 10w50 are a popular choice, great cold and hot temperature protection. I have never seen the Silkolene/Fuchs for sale anywhere but will recheck for this grade in southside motor factors as i saw they sell Millers there, knowing my luck they wont have it either! Anyone know anywhere else that stocks the Millers?

i was on to auto care they said havent stock 15 50 in years dont know about southside but looks like most m factors just sell every day oil

ye its seems like most places only sell 5w30 or 10w40 blends, and look at you like you have two heads if you ask for anything else. "sure what you you need that for"!

ye like whats that never heard of that but ill check, have to order it but.not like uk, a bit like our petrol,, last in europe to have anything we need still charge us s..t prices for crap

Ring Ciaran and get some motul 15W50 off him, just buy the best you can get. Good oil is a lot cheaper than a new engine.

ive always used silkolene race pro r in my scoobys 15w50... id never go lighter.. even in normal driving in winter the oil gets to a serious tempreture..
