Mods,what you suggestions

scooby.grrr

Sunday Drivers
Car 00 sti type-r
Here is the few things i have.

Apexi Rev/Speed meter
Apexi AFC neo
Apexi AVC-R
Apexi type pro n1 coilovers with Swift springs
Apex turbo timer
Apexi N1 full stainless straight threw exhaust system.
Turbosmart dump valve
omori boost gauge
clear indicator lens

The engine is std with no mods that i can see.

What i would like is more power, but i want to keep it simple and not to go over budget,
if its expensive i will save a few pound and get it.

I would like to get the car mapped , silicone hose kit, 08 sti intercooler, big scoop, panel filter.

Styling i like the idea of a roof vent,

I know there are thousands of things you could do but i am just after the simple things.

Interested to know what you suggest should be next.

dont bother with sti8 top mount and fit front mount instead.

remove the apexi afc neo and replace with a mappable ecu or factory one do ecutek map.

or remove afc and avcr and sell and let a mappable ecu take over boost control and fit 3 port solinoid.

Extra power? with fmic and remap running properly with be a faster car. want little bit extra swap out vf28 for new age sti turbo or a billet 18g.

Dave what kind of Gasket do you need when fitting the Newage ecu Instead of the vf28 turbo?? is it a direct bolt on??

If only going for just remap and exhaust there is hardly any need fmic.

Standard ecu for that car is mappable!
How much power do you want?
Going big power on standard internals probably not best idea!!
Much more than 350 hp your puttin your gear box at risk aswell

Get in touch with a few mappers and builders and decide exactly what you want before you go doing anything!

350 bhp would be a good start I am trying to get ideas so I can look up prices and see what my options would be. Just take for example I could get a Sti 8 top mount intercooler for 100 to 150 euro would I get a good front mount intercooler for that price? Would a fuel pump and mods to the engine be worth doing?

What's your opinion on earth performance kit ?

fuel pump a walbro be good upgrade then as above front mount and map the stock ecu or get a power fc or simtec ecu and sell on your neo and boost controler fit a 3 port boost solenoid get nice few ponies gained then after that need to upgrade your turbo

Walbro are having huge quality control issues of late.

Lot of failures.

Lot companies have stopped stocking incl ourselves.

Deatschwerks and RCM fuel pumps are the way to go.

jus while discussing walbro's , i found lately when starting her up , after i prime it,wait 5 secs and start her up she will continue to "whine" for another minute or so . it will become silent after a few jabs of the fas pedal or lock steering wheel . jus thought it a bit odd . will get u (dave) to have a gander at end of month .

I take it your talking about something like the DW 300 Dave?
I have no experience of them but have heard good reports!!! Are they quiet? or will ya hear a hum off the fuel pump?

Sorry for hijacking thread, however id assume this info would benefit you aswell as the rest of us!

Also a price for these would be cool too Dave!!!

No bother hammie last thing I want is whining in the car .

So Deatschwerks and RCM fuel pumps are the way to go. How much should I pay and are seconds ok from another car with mods ? What front mount intercooler is a good buy ?

Dave if I get a Simtek would u keep the car and take out the Apexi ? How much would be for u to do the work and remap. Do u know about a earthing kid are they any good and how much is a second hand set worth ?

Best to email or pm with list of your plans.

I personally dont use or sell earthing kits.

Deatschwerks are e174.50

RCM e189.50

Dave I am just trying to get ideas and the price of parts the first thing I will be doing is a NCT so it will be near July before I start hopefully I will start getting the parts soon.

RCM pump is an AEROMOTIVE yank pump. Very good flow but accorging to the experts draws more power on tick over than a Bosch 044 on full chat.. which is very interesting.. probably not much point in fitting one without a direct 12v feed via relay from Battery..

Anyway lets cut to the chase for this guy, If you have an Apexi ECU, its probably going to be 400ish euro to map, if you buy a Simtec, i am guessing at 1200ish supplied and mapped,
Depending what route you go with on the ecu you can expect any where from a Grand up, for a few bolt ons.
If you have an Apexi i would stick with it, Straight through exhaust, filter, Plugs, pump and map for e5... and leave it there and enjoy the car... plenty of 2nd bits about, just keep an eye out

Can you get direct replacement bosch 044 pumps for a subaru that go into the tank? Only ones I've seen are external to the fuel tanks on big power builds..

@robbie
modifying required but they can be fitted into the fuel sender unit where stock pump is located!!!
