mondello on monday

cheers dan, that was my first real track day and the first time on the full international track in mondello ,the other time being japfest last year on the short circut.

i love the way you drive dan ,your some man for gettin her side ways, its a pity about your track car(skyline)i would have liked to see her run, rob(scobyke) loved the day to and was on to me last njght about when are we doing the next one,im movin to a new gaff in august so wont make that month but we think we will get a day in in oct hopefully,we should try and get as meny as possible from the club to go out on track

What about another go at the club day? DTD had one last month and it was set up for beginners to go out for a while then the experienced lads and the the drifters. then the afternoon was open. Something like that could be a good craic!!

suppose to be having a track day this year as it says in the mag we got at the agm if there is enough interest.

i think there would be enough bodys this time around to get a track day organised.

Sounds great, but there risky for the club to organize. They have to pay before hand and if they don't numbers turning up and paying they can lose a lot of money.

I was going to go monday but i forgot that i had to get my eyes lasered the next day :wall:

i would be up for a track day and would be happy to put my name down and put my money down right away

if someone was to organize it.

We have tried a few times!
To make it work we would have to go in with another club to get the numbers up!
DTD for example! So if anyone is a member of anyother clubs mention it ther and see if there is any interest!!
Dan

Is there any comeback at all if you damage the car? Can you pay extra for track insurance or anything? Have you guys asked your insurance companies to cover you? I would love to do it and had fully intended to once the car is mapped but i dont know if i could take the risk of either crashing it or someone else crashing into it.. Do you lads just take the risk?

NO INSURANCE
No way no how! Just don't drive into anyone! And If some one driving dangerously pull in and let them past!
It's quite hard to damage your car at mondello. You would have to go seriously wrong to actually hit anything!
Drive her on!
Dan

The white Impreza in the photos had an engine fire. Haven't seen any people have major acccident.

Jaysus rob Your nearly doing a wheely there!
Great site speedy!

@ mac mac: Is only as dangerous as you make it! I make it pretty dangerous and I haven't gone off yet!
I had a bit of a moment beside rob (scoobyke) I went a bit hard around the corner trying to catch him and over shot over the kerb and put two wheels on the dirt! :eek:mg:
Another one was on Paddy's day I caught up with three M3's (2 quick ones being held up by a slow one) I slid past the 2 quick ones on the first part of the "double apex" and tucked in behind the slow lad! I stayed on his bumper till the next left hander expecting him to move over and let me past (the general rule is if someone comes up behind you, you're supposed to pull over to the right and let them pass on the left) aproaching the left hander he steered to the RHS of the track So I dived to the left, As I was coming along side him he started to turn sharply left, straight into my path, (DICK) I was already slightly understeering and comited to the corner, He just steered in aiming for the apex that I was heading for as If I wasn't there, I stood on the brakes, he was still coming, at this point My headlight was only about 12" from the back of his head (He was LHD) I beeped the horn, He looked left at my headlight heading at his head and swerved away and nearly off the track!
That was the closest one! Since then I make sure people know I'm there before I make a move!
Other than that, Perfectly safe  get her out there
Dan
