Great day out,
Myself and my little girl went down to spectate,
Good few ISDC lads there, great to see everyone, in future it would be very good to be able to all park up together and we can get an ISDC flag pole out, I had it with me today, but I was parked by myself,
Wifey arrived around lunch and took Ciara home, leaving me to get a few passenger laps!
It was nice just watching, But doesn't get the heart pumping like being out on track! even if it is just as a passenger!
Usually Front wheel drives are quick and relitively safe on track, Point and squirt style, In my experiance is that they (FWD) are a bit boring!
NOT TODAY
Ciaran rs/ra kindly sacrificed his weight advantage to take me out for 3 sessions,
Sweet jaysus, some craic, and some pilot, I mean pilot literally, hitting the curb hard on the apex of turn 2 has the car flying across the track to the curb on the exit!
The G forces in such a small car (about 750 KG) are shocking, My neck is killing me, thank god the seats had bolsters to hold your head relitively straight,
No jaysus handles so I was holding on for dear life to the should straps of the harness,
Best moment of the day was coming across a traffic jam half way around turn 3 (the tightening double apex at the back left of the track) It's an awkward bend that you can usually use the short straight between the two apex's to get the car straight and settled before braking again into the second apex (I cocked it up in front of keith dublin at our trackday), Usually in a FWD means flooring it till she pulls straight, then stand on the anchers,
But on this occasion, there was cars every where mid bend, including a race prep'd Porsche 911 and a nice M3
So no chance to try get the car settled, had to stay on the brakes, so the arse stayed out to the left, had to let off and it swung to the right, then back to the left, It was some fight! all the while that Porsche was getting pretty close, I was yelping like a little girl and Ciaran just drove on, and used the hold up to get past a few lads! best bit of driving I have witnessed in a long time! fantastic footwork! a stark contrast to the last passenger laps I sat in on!
Fair play!
He had some laps on video, I asked him to please edit out the parts with my screaming!

Dan (I'l be back on track very soon)

Sounds like a passenger lap with Ciaran is the way to go!!!!!!

Sounds like there were some nice motors on track......

have this video thing mastered, can even turn them back the right way when i f##k up and record it upsidedown :comp26:

Great video's
Was out for about 10 laps in this car and all i can say is fook me it stick's to the road it is unreal.
The grip is savage its the quickest car i have ever been in around mondello.
If your ever thinking of selling let me know
Love it

Oh and the driver had a small bit to do with it as well

what bhp is it?

The scary thing is that its only a 306 GTI engine with nothing done to it so less than 170bhp :shock2:

Great stuff Ciaran  I'll have to get a few laps with you next time and slow you down a bit

You genuinely won't fit in the passenger seat robbie, its very narrow, my petite rump couldn't fit in there either
