Before I order anything I was wondering whats the difference between stepper gauges and ordinary ones? And do I need a sandwich plate to fit oil pressure/temp gauges and if so-which one? Gauges will be prosport ones.

Prosport stepper gauges use a stepper motor which is electronically controlled by readings taken from the engine bay electronically. Normal mechanical gauges take the readings inside the gauge in the cockpit i.e. run a boost pipe from the engine into the cockpit and into the back of the gauge where the pressure is converted into a reading.

Electronic gauges are either stepper or in some cases servo, with the stepper motor being slightly more accurate.

The prosport steppers do the swoosh startup which is cool :icon_headbang:

So do I need the sandwich plate with stepper motor gauges? And where does the boost gauge read boost from?

Yes, you will need a sandwich plate for the oil temp and pressure sensors..

Not exactly sure where the boost sensor goes but its put on to a boost pipe and it sends a signal from the engine bay to the gauge afaik

Boost onto boost sensor that comes with gauge and t off...

Oil temp/pressure can either from a sandwich plate or adaptor where factory pressure sensor goes where allows x2 sensors in. As in factory and aftermarket. Temp can go into blanker plug front turbo on block using factory adapter you took outta where original one was at front if you get me.

Prob with these gauges is oil pressure sender unit is huge and sandwich plate may cause issues fouling sump. Defi senders are for example x5 times smaller.

So I can do it without sandwich plate then? would all required fittings be included with the gauges normally?
