More insurance woes

B4 soon

Petrolheads
I havent had the legacy insured lately due to having to use my no-claims on my taxi. Im 29,have full no claims,no convictions,no points, full licence 8 years and im being refused quotes. Is there ANY companies that will allow me my no claims on the car? It seems ridiculous to me that with that driving record and previous insurance on trucks, vans and cars that i should still be refused? And at 29-ive no intention of giving any more than 700euro for it. I have to give 1800 for the taxi as is.

Did you try firstireland.ie Sean? They quote on their web site that they insure high performance cars...

Steve.

mate of mine suggested bestquote.ie think he's got his scooby with them.
Haven't tried them myself but I'm shortly going to be having a similar problem i think since I hit Ice in the s2k and wrote her off.
Previous to that I had 6 years no claims :icon_hang:

ring axa, they dont do jap imports through their website so you have to ring one of the branches... my insurance on the B4 is only 700 odd with them.

Chill.ie €3106. F*ck off!!!!!

holy sh*t thats robbery :shock2: :shock2:

they quoted me €880 fully comp

If i was allowed my no claims the quote is 792 comp. But others only want about 600. I cant understand why my no claims cant be used-Its me that built it up by being careful-its got nothing to do with the car.Surely thats illegal.

You cant use no claims built up on a commercial policy against a private ploicy either or vice versa , they have everything sewn up to suit themselves

I would completely agree with that, they make it illegal to not have insurance and then screw you because you have to have it.

are there any other cars at your house? Insure one of them for 2 or 3 days on a new policy then simply switch that policy onto the B4

I got refused a load of quotes for the Impreza when I got it. So instead of changing company i simply renewed the policy i had on the previous car for a week then swapped it over......

I lost all my no claims when i was between cars ( over 2 years to be exact ! building house etc... ) However i have always had a commercial policy running, so my broker allowed me 5 years based on the strenght of that to get me insured when i bought the turbo i have now last year.......................

I was with of all people - Tesco car insurance for my legacy - worked out at about 550 a year (I'm 30). It's underwritten by hibernian and you deal with them once you have it set up.

Mine was cheap as they said they didn't have a listing for the gtb - so it was insured as gl. I queried this explaining it had twin turbo etc. They sent me a letter to state that I was fully covered for gtb. Worth giving them a shout I suppose.

I got the van insured last year with a broker and i got it down to €500 after they added my no claims from the car to the policy.
