Motor tax loophole to close today

@baz, I would sayz nothin, private track no tax required. Declared permanently off the road.
Read on a classic car forum if you ever intend to put a project car back on the road it will need declaring off road to avoid back tax. I assume the same would apply to a track car if every to see the road again.

Thanks Eoghan I was thinking that.

Remember you have until the end of September to declare it off the road so its effectively business as usual until then. Get the rf100 form signed by the guards up until then

how does this affect motor trade, if you have a fleet of yokes for sale they could be sitting in the yard for months??

Don't declare it off the road now, and it'll just leave you in the same position as before, i.e. if you get caught they'll fine you or take the car if its more than 2 months. But at least they can't do you for false declaration.

alrite cheers for that rob do the cops here have the thing in their cars like in uk they know if its taxed etc before they even pull u over

Yes, but its rarely used as its constantly going off in the cars. That will surely change come October though :icon_hang:

Trailered not classed as on road

 " trailered " Dave, as in driven to the track and thats all the car does , sits in a driveway then for the rest on the time , never driven at all

Book an NCT on the same day. You're allowed drive the car for two reasons while declared out of use. 1 for bringing it to an NCT or 2 for bringing it to have repairs/maintenance in order to pass an NCT.

Gardaí are signing and stamping forms like they're going out of fashion. Come September it lightens their work load and makes it harder for people to dodge paying up to Mr. Taxman so they're happy out.
