Petrolheads
was driving along sunday night and car lost power and cut out and wont start since
will turn over no problem.
had 3 different people out with computers and still no joy in getting it goin.
2 faults it was showing were relay to ecu which we changed with no affect.
and short to ground on injectors another relay we changed and no joy.
anyone got any ideas as im at a loss with it at the moment.

did you try the fuel cut off switch or try reset the ecu maybe

graham spec c on here is a vag mech he might be able to help you

Sounds like an injector pump problem. But Graham should be able to shed some light ifhe into them

Individual injector would probably still make some form of effort at running,
it might not be near the same set up but i had a vectra that would do this, also the brakes werent great, it ended up it was the lift pump which is also vacum source for master cylinder

change fuel filter... if there was water in your fuel filter it would freeze.. was talking to a mechanic and they are flat out changing fuel filters...

I'd put a large amount of money on it being a lift pump
Problem.
Normally under the rear seat on vw cars.presume it's the same on
The skoda.
Pull the feed pipe off the fuel filter housing and crank it over.if no
Fuel comes out,it's your problem.
Just check all fuses too with a probe light with ignition on.

fuel shut off solinoid on injection pump could be knackerd.
try connecting and disconnecting with ignition on you
should hear it click in and out if ok.
simplest thing's often go pear shaped.
goodluck with it.

My bro in law has a 10 D s line A3 Audi, cut out before Xmas and wouldn't move, he had the garage fit an alarm when he got the car, it was brought to a different dealer when it died and they found it had been wired up cowboy style by the original garage, blew just about every relay & fuse possible, they stripped it out and had to replace the ignition loom , if you have a supposed vag fitted alarm, that's your first port of call

Factory immobilisers can give trouble aswell, lots of cars do have problems with them. Was it long since you last put diesel in?? Hardly water in the diesel is it?

tried second key no joy there. only put diesel in day before this happened.
goin to have to go to dealer now. going to cost a small fortune now to get it goin again
