I took my Impreza (Classic 1.6) in for the NCT this morning and she flew through , except for one brake light bulb that I missed in my check's yesterday. That was a quick fix though.
After the test I done a quick comparison of the report sheet against the last 2 tests. It appears my car is 167kg heavier than it was 4 years ago and 90kg heavier than 2 years ago!!!! I only had about 10 litres of petrol in it so wasn't carrying any extra weight there and car was empty otherwise.
I'm wondering if a simple thing like a cars weight varies so much, how accurate are the rest of the tests, or how do they even weigh the car?
