2 lovely cars there but just brings it all home how shagged the motor industry is ,

To diverge a small bit from subaru, I popped into Monaghans Garage on the Tuam Road this evening. They're having a 'trade sale' this weekend. Saw 3 Skoda Octavias for sale. Original price in windscreen was €13,500, today's price is €9,900. That was a diesel with 117,000 kms (had no glasses on me so I can't be sure!). I think those cars are about €24k new. The other 2 cars were €9900 and €9500 (these may have been petrols, I didnt check.)
Not sure how much of a bargain it was at €13,500 but a €4k drop seems like a lot.

In contrast, there was a '99 honda civic saloon selling for €3k. Seems a bit much!

As for the 2 subarus, I paid €14k for my '06 1.6 in sept '08. Hard to believe I could get a wrx for the same price now and only a year older. I suppose the only good thing about having to take a bad price for your own car is that you'd get your new purchase at a good price so one might offset the other.

You might remember @dali (ex member here but emigrated to NZ) advertised His WRX estate here. He used to be My boss back to 2006 so I Know the car , was mint with 74k miles and finaly sold it somewhere around 9k this Year May or June. Shocking!
PS.: not to mention He bought the car brand new so only 1 previous owner
