Havent updated this thread in ages because well I havent dont anything the octane track day, drive and clean it.
The week building up to the octane track day I remember being very sunny all week. In my head I thought a perfect opportunity to test out these AD08R tyres.
Wake up friday morning to torrential rain. Was tempted to put the michelins back on the morning of the track as I thought I would die out there on the semi slicks.
2 hours later I arrived down to mondello and the michelins stayed at home.
Off I set out onto the drenched track. The first few laps I took it really handy, zero vtec. I came in to check my tyre pressure. Adjusted them to 30psi all round and off out I went again. Lap after lap I carefully added more speed. I got to the point where the tyres just spun going around the corners with the diff fighting for grip. That was basically the whole morning.
Towards the end of the morning session it dried up ever so slightly so I got to push the AD08R a little bit. The turn in response is incredible and you feel a great connection in the steering wheel between the tyres and the surface. The car just felt so much more planted compared to road tyres. With road tyres around mondello (eagle f1 or PS4), under hard braking the rear end would get light and twitchy. With the AD08R this never happened. Inspired huge confidence.
Anyway that was my first wet track experience and I loved it.
This time around I noticed my lines and braking points had greatly improved. Meaning I Could keep up with alot more cars than I was use to.
I think I might start timing my laps from now on so I can track my improvements.
I have heard good things about harrys lap timer.
Only managed to get 3 pictures of my car during the entire day as I was too busy out on track and chatting cars
Plans for June are to order the rbc intake manifold and book my car in to get the 4 lower control arm bushings replaced with oem ones as there is some play on the passenger side.
