so lads this is what i was into before scoobies and have to say even though it cost me a fortune to build and got me branded a boy racer :wall:it was great crack goin to shows here and in the uk ,i dont regret any of it and it was one of the best handling cars i ever had and could out drag a uk wrx :multijump: ,just taught id share it with ye all opinions welcome

Nice Saxo Dec. Very tidy looking!

I never thought of myself as a boy racer when I was young as I bought a classic mini. :icon_rolleyes: and thought the car made me exempt from being classified as one. :hammerhead:

I spent a small fortune on it... Bought the car for 1500 and spent over 7k on it in a 2 year period. It was a savage little rocket by the time I was finished. A complete waste of money though... but in so many ways worth it as it's what gave me the bug for great handling, quick cars... and for modding too and without it, god knows what I'd be driving.

yeah the mille miglia were also a favourtite of myne , considered them for the scoob , class wheel imo

two clios , a pug 106 and a seat ibiza were my "hot" hatches :icon_headbang: :hammerhead:

Beautiful saxo Dec
some excellent mods went on that
do you have any bits left over from it
i have a 8v 1.6 vtr im using as my every day car now
but i want to do some bits to it so i can use it on track aswell
even joined the saxo club saxperience :icon_lol:

@Jamie
used to be a mini head myself in my earlier days
think that's why i wanted a saxo
I had a 1380 that was from down around your way before I bought it

Very nice Colm... who owned it before you? Looks like car I'd seen years back in Lloyd Hutchinson garage in Delgany.

Some day I'll get another... I'd love a mk1 shell... with a 1380... in Tartan Red or Almond Green with a black roof... fully caged and with 10x6 magnesium minilites.

Here's my own...

thanks lad it took some amount of work to get them under that car with the drop i was running, 18" rims on a saxo was very scarce back then and even dropped so much and five in the car it never rubbed the arches..

@colm , no parts left at all man sold the car in 05 so all went with it loved the mini,s to man some car to handle

@jamie,the mini was probably excempt from the boy racer tag but they were definitely a very fun car

Remember it well Dec, especially when u would come over killbeggen bridge at half one in the morning on a saturday night or through the bridge up at spollenstown was a really class car :icon_headbang:

Yeah they would be a cool little yoke around the track, i used to love roundabouts in it, just go hard as you can in to it and kick the back wheel up

some car to handle alright i remember when i had my one a friend of mine had a standard wrx 98 and he could not get away from me in it so frustrating ....for him.... :multijump:
