it cant go on the rollers as its AWD. The NCT only have 1 set of rollers so the car will just jump off the roller being AWD. Tell the person its AWD when you hand over the keys.

they put my gtb on the rollers and it jumped off so he did it again it passed anyway my nct is up next week should
i tell em its awd?

you should tell them its awd alright, as far as i know it will damage the diff
if the try run on just the front set of wheels or the rear, whitch is why if
your ever getting a tow truck the whole car has to go on the truck,
two wheel drive cars can have the rear wheels on the ground and fronts
on the truck.

They take it for a drive around the test center.

Its very technical how they test your brakes, They drive a 5 to 10 mph press the brake and say: yeah thats grand (in a foreign language) I mean its not like brakes are as important as a blown bulb or removing hub caps
Its amazing how talented these testers are to determine brake bias and everything through their right foot at 10 MPH
Really is that the way cause they gave my front brakes a 92% rating and my rears a 86%, even though i have new pads on the rear and nearly completely worn on the front. Ridiculus!!!!!!!!!

I swear that is the way, i seen them do it with my car, they just make up the figures, its very technical
Sorry i read my sheet wrong, it was a 85% efficiency on my brakes, and 38% on the hand brake, which was tightened with new pads!!!!!!!!!
Thats just funny how they actually put figures on it.

Its funny i some sense, but when you think about it, this is meant to prove your car's road worthiness which they have no clue about. And to me brakes are one of those things i'd like to be tested correctly. Its an absolute joke and a sham of a test.
Instead of saying remove your hub caps its a fail straight away, and yet your brakes could be fooked and it passes that

Do they not have some gadget that measures the stopping force or something? thought i heard that before..
[/quote]
as was already said above, the brake rollers they have are only for doing front or back seperate, you can't do that on a 4 wheel drive car. They don't have 4 wheel rollers so they skip it and drive it round the car park instead

yea i know that....nct'd a car or two in my time...
what i meant was, something they bring in the car with them while they drive it in the car park that measures the stopping power... thought i read that somewhere on here

Sorry mate, misunderstood you. Yeah they do have some yoke put its more for checking pedal deflection or overall braking force. so as long as there is no air in the system it'll pass. even if your discs and pads are down to the metal their gadget wont tell them anything. or if you car pulls left or right, they wont feel it a 10mph and their gadget wont tell them. all they know is it stops when they press the pedal
you remove the screw in the pocket above the handbrake, and the screw on either side (they face the seats) lift away the back section of the centre console. You'll see a 10mm adjuster nut at the bottom of the handbrake. Release the handbrake and tighten the adjuster a few turns. Count the clicks of the handbrake, it should be between 5-7 clicks
