Nct Brake Test

Sunday Drivers
In the NCT they use the 2 wheel rollers for the brake test but does all our Imprezas go through this as it being 4wd as normal cars are only 2wd and cant help to think it doing damage to the diff and LSD as it can ''wind up'' diff as I got my car through the first (NCT) since I got it and they tested it the exact same way as a normal car with 2 wheel drive and they tested it with 2 wheel system shown in pic, but I know they have 4 wheel systems in UK especially for 4wd cars, as I was thinking this myself before even going for the test but tester said they always have Evos and Imprezas in for the test and never problems with them on them rollers but I wouldnt trust the tester at all what ye guys think???? any comments great

Ive had my impreza tested twice and they never went near the rollers, as you have said it will cause damage to the diff, they instead done a stop test in the car park with the aid of a guage placed on the passo seat, that gives an indication of the braking force, so if they are putting four wheel or all wheel drive cars on the rollers they are not very bright and need to be told its not the way to do it, but then they should know that :wall:

Ya they should know that so you would think but he put mine on the rollers as I did tell him it that he is aware off it been a 4wd car, from Cork and got it tested by the Little Island centre you think it damaged my diffs?

Id hate to think of people out their that dont know very much about these cars and then Nct testers sends them through on the rollers thats unreal:(

DON'T LET THEM PUT IT ON THE ROLLERS!!!! :naughty:

Some dumb f**k put my first Scoob on rollers even though I'd informed him it was 4WD!

Long and short of it was the car jumped off rollers as rear wheel where on the solid ground... which in turn stretched brake line and tore it... and he handed me back the car saying it failed as there where no working brakes on the car!

Found car in carpark... with brake fluid all over the ground! Took some :angry1: at them to get them to agree they where at fault! :snooty:

i got my car nct last week,i went out to the car with him,and let him know that there was no way he was puting it on rollers,he drove the car out the road to test the brakes......

think the one in killarney has a 4 wheel roller.. tryin to remember when i was there with herself car..

anyone can comfirm?

There is a guy in the Clondalkin test centre with a B4 and he skipped it for me too plus he didnt thrash it on the suspension test he was wise and took about 20 minutes making sure it wouldnt damage my skirts etc, he went for the car himself when he seen it qued up. told me bout subaru's having problems there so they must be clued in by now that was last year

When I report for the test I always tell the person behind the counter that my car is AWD. I get the same answer all the time, "dont worry the tester will know"

Yeah he'll know its AWD when the car jumps off the rollers. Too late by then :hammerhead: :hammerhead:

They dont use the rollers, when the test is over and you think they are parking the car up they are not. They rally it out the back and if you ask what they were doing your told checking the brakes....Fact, as i caught them doin it twice im mine
