NCT Question???

Hi Guys,

The NCT is up on the Leggy since the end of July. Eventually after 4 weeks of ringing I got an appointment today for the 8th Sept.

So in relation to the emissions test is there anything I can do to help it out? Iv been running the car on octane booster so should I stop that now or keep going? Some people say rev the car hard before going in etc??? Or use a fuel treatment????

Any advice greatly appreciated!
 
First thing is the main cat in place or is there a sports cat (pref 200cell)..if its not and its decated you will fail.

Second bring the car for a good 30 min spirited drive and arriving at the nct at your time and try and get car seen straight away (dont let it cool down).

Last year I had the spare key kept it running then locked it and kept a eye in it when tester went for door I unlocked it..
Id keep running the booster car wont run right without it and it could throw off the emissions (run rich)

Legacys A bit different to imprezas usually all will have the cat still fitted in the primary turbo down pipe the secondary down pipe is just a straight through pipe. There will also be a cat in the factory center section. As above make sure the car is good and warm and throw it through. Booster is not needed whatsoever to pass an Nct.

Some diptane can help a car that fails slightly but if cats lambda and air flow meter are ok it will pass

Well the cat is standard anyway so that end of it should be ok. And I have a 30km drive to the test with the last 15km of it on motorway. So around 140kph in 5th for the motorway stint??? Then leave the car running ya? I can go in and check in and come out and sit in car with it running until tester comes out....

Anything else?

Yea that should do give her a good rip should be fine as baz says some people use diptane but I dint know bout results chuck it in and see how she goes
 
Highish revs, low boost to warm the cat through.. no need to rag the balls out of it, and if you use diptane, do not rag it until that is completely out of the system as it lowers that octane rating of the fuel.
