Sunday Drivers
lads i have the nct tomorrow morning and there is a Clifford alarm on the car and needs a code to be started i heard you can put them into valet mode and that will let them drive it. i also had a look at the manual online and doesn't say much about what valet mode does only how to get it into it and out of it so does anybody know what exactly happens when its in valet mode? bit worried they will not take the car if they cant start it to bring it in :dontknow:

write the code on a post-it and just leave it on the seat, i doubt he'll steal it,

and if your paranoid can you then change it after?

yeah that's a good idea ill do that i don't mind him knowing the code, i was thinking if they couldn't start it or get confused with it that they will just fail it for nct.

I think this is what your after..

Bypass it as above, do not give out your code to anyone. You never know who you're dealing with and they have access to your address.

yeah it just went through there and i started it for them.
i must have the record for most failed stuff on the nct for a scoob :angry1:

Doubt it bet mine was longer and I got a big failed dangerous do not drive sticker on the window

haha got any pics of that sticker sounds gas :lolpoint:
its a 98 type r
heres what mine failed on

side/slip alignment test-

ftont axle 4.6m/km fail
rear axle -2.0m/km fail

exhaust emissions-

high idle lambda 1.40 has to be between 0.97 and 1.03 fail

visual/aural defects -

tyre specs protrude behind body offside front fail
tyre specs protrude behind body nearside front fail
tyre specs protrude behind body offside rear fail
tyre specs protrude behind body nearside rear fail

exhaust system noise above 99db fail (was at 104db) out of everything this pissed me off the most because it has original catted down-pipe and a zero sports exhaust thats meant to be quieter than stock doesnt help that he revved the arse out of it 4 or 5 times.

steering rack gaitor is not in fail

repeat side slip test? (dont know what that is) fail

brake lines on all four corners were insecure fail ( changed to coilovers a few months back and havent got them rubber things that mount to coils)

bodywork secondary structure condition fail (theres a hole in the passenger arch that needs a bit of welding).

i knew it would fail on the hole and wheel setup but didnt think it was this bad

EDIT: i dont think it failed on the alignment test but it does have N/D highlighted beside it

F****k, a bit of sortin out to be done :wall: . mine is due in a few weeks. Does anyone know if that bypass works on the jap sigma alarm.

dint know there was such a thing
I know two other lads got them
One with almera tiny brake fluid leak from back caliper he was happy enough he didn't know was there could have been dodgy
Other lad with e30 325 filled it with petrol and it started leaking in there they pushed it out the door and couldn't let other cars in till some crowd came and cleaned up the spill
Mine wasn't to bad compared to them :multijump:
