iv had 3months nct in the sti and iv had it 3years, one month for evey year.

4 ncts and failing over stupid littles things, then on the 5 time they pass and it has to come back again in 3mounths,
cudnt be arsed doin them.
 
i was thinking of telling them my views bout this. might write a nice but strongly worded letter - but i think i'll just waste my time :ponder: this is not on :naughty:

in austria we have a thing called vehicle inspection sticker. new cars first test after 3 years, next one after 2 and then on a yearly basis. it's done by mechanics in garages, oeamtc or arboe (both like the irish AA). i used to get it done in my garage and they did usually a service too (have to say though that my dad knew the head mechanic :icon_grin:) never takes longer than half hour. they wont fail ya for stupid things - it has to be something seriously wrong.
none of that crap that happens here!! they are pretty strict but only care bout the really important stuff!!and not if one led in your 3rd breaklight isn't working!! :doh: or if the exhaust is too noisy :snooty:

those tests like the nct should just figure out if the car is safe to drive - that the breaks are working, the engine is ok, the tyres are in good nick, alignment right would help too, etc . shouldn't have anything to do with tinted window or noisy exhausts!!
