Passed my NCT yesterday without any any issues besides wrong colour bulbs up front and missing a wheel stud so replaced the bulbs and changed over to a new hub.
Cost me €50 and the car is a 1994

I heard the Subaru is normally a demon to get passed. How easy was it for the rest of you?

first time i failed on emmisions decat still on, headlight alighnment
torn cv boot and blue bulbs in my corner lights, flew trough second time

I have never passed an NCT for first with any of my cars. The usual headlamp alignment (even after getting them aligned!) and no irish printed on reg plates

I didnt expect mine to pass 1st time because my reg number is 53mm in height and i think they need to be 63mm in height in order to pass, my brothers car failed because of the reg numbers being smaller than 63mm, it depends on who tests your car i suppose

mine passed 1st time der before xmas , and the funny thing about it is she has a full decat and the engine light was on plus bulb gone in reg plate light and a dipped headlight bulb, surely d emissions wer way to high because of the decat! anyways d bloke smiled when he said it passed i was shocked guess he jus loves subarus cant blame the chap for that!

Failed once on my reg number being 5 millimeters too small.

I expected mine to fail on the hand brake. Sounds very loose and worn. But after comparing test results from this test to my last 1, 2 years ago it turns out its supposedly in better condition now than then even though its not been changed.

Thats surprising because i have always heard the subaru's were hard to pass mainly on emissions but that really doesn't seem the case at all

changed de-cat system back to standard system flew through '95 wrx wagon no prob.

Are there different emissions allowed for a WRX against an Sti model for example,or are they all just tested as 2ltr cars? Passed my N.C.T first time and even i wouldn't have passed it .Took it straight to garage after nct.The tester never even revved it worth a damn.It was first thing on a Monday so i suppose he might have had a sore head.
