Nearly new legacy owner, advice please?

Hey,

I need an estate and want awd and the Legacy seems to tick all the boxes. Don't want a boring Audi etc...

My mechanic has a 2001 Legacy B5 twin turbo auto, which I can have for about €1,000. 60,000 miles on the clock and in very good condition. I haven't seen it yet but would love to get your opinions on that model.

My understanding is that it is an import, as they were never brought in by dealers.

The alternative is a newer one, 07, 08 maybe, but I like the idea of the older, more performance orientated one.

Any feedback, opinions would be very welcome as I have never owned a Subaru!

Also considering an LPG conversion on it to get cheaper motoring. LPGain say they have converted twin turbo ones before with no issues.

cheers,

Barry

Great car if its been looked after and loads of space. They are import only and would need to be mapped to suit 95 octane fuel if it has not been already.

Very nice way to start Subaru life imo

It'll be mapped ok, as my mechanic has owned it for the last 4-5 years and used it daily up to about a year ago.

welcome along  sounds like a nice car best of luck with the search . the newer legacy's are a great car too as i have 1

Welcome, I have a manual b4 and I'm very happy with it. The 07-08 model would probably be more efficient if that is what your after, while still being a great looking car
