Need help with my claim with the legacy

Echo

Middle Lane Hogs
The car is a 2004 legacy Vin Plate details are as follows:
VIN: BL5-013477.
Applied Model: BL5A4BD.
Option Code: QGH.
Engine Type: EJ20YDTAJE.

Whats going on is the ins company are not paying my claim because of non disclosure, They are saying that my car is a BT4 Twin Turbo
and not a standard 2l turbo other things are Prodrive wheels and Gemero sti exhust back boxs

what i need to know is is this model standard ie the vin detail above and are the mods above performance enhancing

That is standard, there is no such thing as a BL5 twin turbo Legacy. They are single turbo from factory.
Not 100% on legalities of wheels/exhaust but hardly grounds for non payment.
Given that they had the VIN/Model code and you told them it was a (single) Turbo Legacy when insuring it i would fight them to the end due to their lack of knowledge.

Tell them to contact Subaru dealer and the can verify from the VIN what model it is and confirm its a single twin scroll turbo.

If you havent got legal advice yet you should. they should still pay out for the car in standard form unless they can prove the the mods were the cause of accident. My last car had mods and dragged out for 2 months they tried to say to had swapped the engine. because it was missing a bit of the engine cover!

independent engineer report too might help you

Have a lawer and all its in its last few weeks we think the killer is iv had to pay the 500 a month while its sits on the drive not moving they case is non discloser of wheels and exhust which makes my insurance void

typical of insurance companies in these days. pure arse holes. they are so frikin happy to take your spondoolies but when it comes to claiming.. different story. dude have a deep read on your policy. quinn tried to tell me that i had a sports car 10 years ago. i had a hyundai accent 1.3 GS. and it was because of the "GS" they fancied puttin it up 500 pounts at de time. so off came the badge and sent off the logbook to em. :)
can you not get away with saying thats the way you purchased the car? pleed ignorant? if u aint a mechanic how ya supposd to know :shock2:

Just wondering : If You had a fully comp. insurance You should get a replacement car until You get payment. So, if it takes 11 month they should pay for it.
When My missus wrote off Her car last year they took the car to the local toyota garage , got a replacement car straight and received money in 15 days. That was hibernian.

you wont get a replacement car if they are claiming non disclosure.... :angry1:
i think you'll have difficulty winning this claim as they are standing by the small print....very few people here would disclose a modification wether its an aftermarket radio or a different engine but all is well till an accident occurs!!!
hope you van get somewhere on this!!

fightin them myself, a parked car done a U turn across two lanes and hit me even though i managed to come to stop and beep he still hit me. Beeping made people look so i have witness's but they are saying i tried to illegally overtake him so both our faults. 2 years ago now and should be in court by summer. Anyway exhaust i suppose boosts power and largewr wheels (if they were) could make your speedo wrong? suppose thats what they are saying? Dont plead like ya didnt know or your admitting there is a problem!! Dont know what to suggest, they are all just money hungry, like the add where the girl nearly has an orgasm cause the guy gettin a quote says 2 liter.

OK I think I have this. You had aftermaret alloys & exhaust but your car itself was declared properly as it's rightful model to the insurance company?

If you didn't try this already, have a go. Get someone to ring up and get a quote for a car the same as your own and using the same details as you. Age, NCB, all that jazz. Then if they entertain whoever rings up, tell them there's a couple modifications to the car and see if they tell whoever rings it'll cost "X" amount extra, no change, or get money back (not very likely).

Give it a go and let us know how you get on.

hmmm :ponder: the exhaust I can understand as its not standard but the alloy wheels, now thats goin a bit far. The wheels are prodrive wheels, made by Subaru I take it so technically they are not non-standard as they are made by the same maker of the car, small technicalities like that usually help swing things

Agreed but it's also these small technicalities that insurance companies use to rape us and then not pay out. Bastards.
