Need some help for a friend

Hi, a friend has damaged his engine and it was sent away and stripped down and has been told that there is no point in repairing as it will cost too much. I don't know all the details but bearings, drive shaft, cylinders and other bits are wrecked. He was told to find a second hand engine with a turbo if possible.

Would anyone have any advise or can point him in the right direction?

His car details: 1.5ltr dci k9k engine with turbo for a 07 qashqai

Was chatting to a guy there a few weeks ago while out car shopping with father in law. Your man said the engines are pretty much bullet proof and bits are very hard come by... my mechanic agreed with the statement your man made.

The engine in the qashqai are a Renault engine, best look for one that has had a rear shunt in either a megane or the likes or a qashqai.

Aaron those engines are hard enough got down south i work in a scrappers and we cant keep those engines in,i'l see if we have any tomorrow
 
Delphi Injector pump and turbo notoriously trouble some on these due to bad irish diesel and renault a long life service intervals.
There is no engine oil good for mare than 8/10k I don't care what it's made from
