Im looking at gettin my first Subaru today or tomorrow and iv been hearing really mixed reviews

surrounding them.

Heres a link to the car im going to look at any info on this or these particular models would be very helpful

http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1666359

It looks the business in the pictures and the owner has been more than helpful surrounding questions

Iv had about the car very genuine and seems like he really takes pride in his cars.

Id like to know what the like on

Performance - average bhp

Servicing

Fuel - Average MPG

To insure (21 3yrs ncb 4yrs full license and 1 yrs nde)

Trouble they give

Parts expensive

Reliabiltiy

Any input would be very helpful surrounding this particular model of subaru

Many thanks

Philip

You'll be lucky to get a qoute at 21 to start unfortunately
Ah should be ok on it I had an evo before with no hastle so the scooby should be ok for now

I got a quote on the new WRX and I was gettin like and average of 1k give or take mainly give

Welcome along , I'd start with looking for a full service history.
Fuel - Not sure what milage you cover day to day , but don't worry about the MPG , it's the joy of driving Subaru's is what counts. :subaru:

99% sure that belongs to a member on here called MickWRX.. Very nice fella and a clean car if i remember rightly

welcome along.

fair play if you can get insurance at 21 on an impreza, you must be doing the name driver fiddle are you :ponder:
if your worried about fuel dont buy an impreza get a tdi golf.they eat juice.if i get 300kms a tank im lucky in mine.

you had an evo before yeah? one thing ill say after driving many different evos is they drive themselves.
an impreza will bite you in the ass if your not ready or able for it. understeer can be a major problem then oversteer if your not expecting it.

if you mind an impreza and service it properly it will be reliable.if its ragged and red lined all day long without some love it will cost money.
a fsh with the car would help determine that.

best thing to do if your serious is ring one of the traders on here and ask them would they take a look at the car for you.

How do you get insured on an Evo at that age?

I got laughed at at that age on anything over 1 litre.

Thanks to everyone above who have given the perspective and input

Yeah Quinn direct insured me, cost me a fair oul bit but ah sure what can you do

would I be right in sayin insurance should be cheaper on a WRX than an STI

god yeah its much easier to insure a wrx over an sti. even my dad at 50 with over 30years ncb had a problem insuring his sti. if its a jap sti its even harder again. best of luck with the subaru man

ye man ther is a few classic sti going around just down as sports on book so insurance cheap enough

Fair play on getting the insurance that cheap I'm 29 and the cheapest I can get is €1500 on my wrx. Who is that quote with just so I can give them a shout when I'm renewing?my brother in law didn't renew his policy on his Evo 9 two months ago and he is screwed now. The renewal was € 999 then and now 2 months later they want €2250 off him. Shower of Robbin fuckers. Cheapest quote he can get now is €1600 with first Ireland. he is 33 with 9 yrs ncb.

Insurance should be no problem if you are ready to pay a lot.

I am 21 (no ncb) insured on 03 wrx with Brittons.

Performance - average bhp on wrx would be around 220

Servicing - expensive, plus you should service it 5-6k miles which is twice as often as a normal cal :icon_hang:

Fuel - Average MPG - forget about fuel economy. 300 km per tank which is 60L But with a huge smile on your face :subaru:

Trouble they give - no big trouble if a car has good service history and serviced with good stuff (oil, filters, etc)

Parts expensive - really depends on what you are looking for. oil filter- E12, timing belt change including work - E600

Reliabiltiy - prepare to change some small bits, otherwise they should be reliable.

any more questions?

PS: it is MickWRX car, had an eye on it before

mine is 1067 fully comp on my 05 WRX with quinn as i said in another post.. Quinn direct and XS Driect the only one that will in sure me out of all the companies in Ireland. Rang everyone of them.

im 28 with 9yrs ncb... nobody should stop their insurance for a few month cos they F888K u over when u come back. Cos once you are with them they have to keep insuring you, you leave they can charge you what they like to come back...sucks..

Ya he is not a happy camper. I can't get Quinn to quote me at all. Am a bit wary of insurin somethin else for a few weeks and then switching. Will see Wat my renewal in Jan is.

ffs... back in 2005 i bought my first scooby.. a mint black 97 type R V4... i insured it with britton, for 2.5k (as an sti type r) i spent almost a full day ringing around and no one would quote me at all so i had to go with britton... i was 25 at the time with 2 years ncb and full license...

hmmm i miss that black 2 door actually... i wonder if anyone knows of its where abouts
