looks nice and clean and I like that shape astra but very much out of my budget unfortunately ive max €1700 to spend

Mark 4 golf gti 1.8 turbo had one before handy bought. Nice car if ya get a tidy one with the black recaro interior.

I found mine thirsty and troublesome
ANd it was only 18 months old when I bought it
Still have a soft spot for them all the same

For your budget paul u cant beat honda for reliability and very easy to work on, the accord are bullet proof, have had a few hondas, great cars, bought a honda for my daily recently too, no regrets

For the love of God and all that is holy run a mile from MG and Mk4 Gti golfs!!
If you want turn key reliability I'd go for the honda.

The Impreza would be nice if it's in decent Nick, hard to find good ones.

Bought a Ek saloon as a daily 6 months ago and no problems with it and is fast enough with a few light mods,€20 would get ya about 100 miles.Hard to get a good one these days but there worth a look.

Ok so mgs are def out and mentioned the impreza to herself and she wasnt happy with another classic coming in (ive had 3 now) so I think the plan is to get something a bit more normal for now and save up for a newage.
was looking at a 00 audi a3 1.9 tdi today high mileage but seemed to drive well and only done 3000 miles since test with some service history and timing belt up to date
Still kinda thinking about mondeos as well can get 02-05 in budget with good test
also still considering
megans
lagunas
volvos (dont know why just always liked them)
accords
audi a4 a3
passat

:facepalm go to the corner and have a talk with yourself luke Megan's volvos and lagunas are you taking the piss they look appealing because there cheap and there cheap because there shite . Honda for me please.

Honda ,Mazda 6 as above french british Italian normally = trouble

Stick with jap stuff I say

6 is a nice looking car and can be cheap (stick to 1.8 petrol)

Ciaran WRX

I had a 03 clio back in 07 before I passed my test and it was a good little car that and my mate has had a 04 megan since arpund the same time and its still going strong despite being parked up and left for over a year in the middle that's why I like renaults
volvos I dont know why ive just always liked them
Hondas i do like and i am looking at a few
What are the mondeos like to live with only driven them briefly but seem alright to drive
same question with audi and passat petrol and tdi
wasnt expecting to be changing cars this year thats why looking at all options and I am taking all advice on board
Cheap is good at the min as ever but I want to end up with the best I can for the money preferably without travelling half the country

id say go with mondeo 1.8/2.0 petrol great cars very reliable parts are cheap and not bad a juice, plenty off room in them and you will get 04-06 zetec with your budget or even a 2.0 zetec focus

NO RENAULTS if your lookin at savin a few pound, if it's something a bit normal but nice and will give no trouble then you only have one option HONDA

Looks a nice car, he could really do with sticking in some tail light bulbs doh. One of these guys who knows sweet F.A if he doesn't see that his tail light bulbs are out in his photos
