New Car Options, what would you buy?

To get a decent low mileage high spec accord you would need all of the 15k. Looked at them before i got the audi had the last model accord great car same as every diesel ya have to mind them. There was a lad on here was selling a mondeo titanium xsport black one. Lovely car nice interior and the nice bumpers. Think there 2.2.

Stay away from anything in the VAG range with a 1.9 BXE coded engine. ..big problems leading to big bills

BMW 520d was always on my wish list based on looks alone but bro in law had one lots of troubles including timing chain broke
He says never again he's given up trying to keep the dash clear of fault lights
And after I got a 20 mile spin on local roads I'd never buy one harsh on 18" wheels not that quiet nt what I had expected big disappointment

New model accord would be my choice on looks reliability and economy
Second mondeo or smax
We have new galaxy and love it but defo go 2.0 or 2.2 in the fords

The ford would be my choice as a mate has an accord and it had a load of work done, timing chain, egr and turbos can be common, same as the 520 d,they give turbo problems as they use an electronic actuator, the 2.0 vag engine is pure sh1t injectors, egr, turbo to name a few i've heard of

I personally have never seen the fascination with BMW's.

Driven an 05 525i on 18's with auto box and was sluggish and slow and not that comfy. Also driven an 07 523i which had 16's I think. Very different and was comfy and lots of toys to play with but very mundane. I've never thought they're a good looking car either.

I'm selling in the next 2 weeks. Titanium X Sport. 57k miles, full service history, massive spec, giant booth, 2.2tdci, 175 BHP, taxed till end march, just nctd a week ago and serviced.

That looks gorgeous, what year is it? What tax band is the 2.2 in?

Well iv done my research on it and u won't bring one from the uk with my milage for less than 13k. Here in Ireland there is not one for sale. U can get a normal titanium x which looks like a normal mondeo, again with my milage for around 12k. There is no comparison between the titanium x and the titanium x sport looks wise. All said and done ill be asking 12,500 and hoping for as close to that as possible. Now u can get one with 100,000+ miles cheaper, but to me milage is everything. And I think that's realistic and reasonable...

@ dec. do the 2.0d mondeo have the wet belt in the sump like th 1.8 does,

If so its like a €1000 for a timing belt job

No belt, timing chain afaik though Dec will confirm this. The dual mass flywheel went on my 08 tdci recently and that cost me a grand :argh:
