@ dec. do the 2.0d mondeo have the wet belt in the sump like th 1.8 does,

If so its like a €1000 for a timing belt job
no man just a belt its a Peugeot dw10c engine .as for the 1.8 yes that is true a wet belt and a dry belt but I can do them for about 600 all in
its like this with ford diesels
1. the 1.8 has dry top belt and a wet bottom belt critical that its changed at 5yrs or 100,000 miles
2. the 2.0 mondeo dw10 engine has a dry belt kit fitted to it
3.the 2.2 dw12 has a dry belt kit fitted to it

Yep and it main dealer only yet, dayco do them but can't sell as aftermarket yet

(main dealer supply that is)

I use a gates top belt kit and a ford genuine bottom belt kit along with ford crank seal, injector pump gasket and oil pump gasket and can do them parts and labour for 600 the dealer I work for charges 760 all in so whoever quoted a 1000 euro is robbing ye ,there is an awfull lot of bull talked about the 1.8 tdci its actually a very good engine if a little out dated now

Take a drive in a 520 F10 SE and see what you think. The M sport is a bit hard ride . A bit more than 15k.
Road tax 280 E. Some good deals to be got with servicing and two year warranty and break down assist.
Hard to justify new cost.
Happy new year.

Dublin ford dealers are chargin 4/5 hours labour. Average 90 an hour plus parts and vat.

Country main dealer labour rates always lower. Full kit trade ia about 450 from ford inc vat far I recall.

Ive a crackin 08 mondeo diesel for sale. Lot of change out 15k too

2008 1.8 tdci. Nct till jan 16. Silver. 140km irish car. Belt just done etc.

Up at 8495 well priced at that. But as always a deal can be done.

Nearly 25k for an F10 on average so no chance. The best you can do for 15k in a 2008+ 5 series is a 2008 SE 520d, and I really don't like the look of the E60 SE.

And thanks for all the advice lads. I've found a car I really like the look of and all going well, I'll hopefully be in my new car before the end of January.

She's 2.2 alright and ticks all the boxes, looks great in the photos, just have to see it in person and hopefully take it home

I'm back in the market lads, any suggestions welcome. I crawled through donedeal last and couldn't find anything I liked. Suggestions welcomed, links if you see something even better

May also consider pre-08 now too but nothing above 2L generally. May consider 2.2 if it is really really nice though.
