new car.

does the gt4 has 4 wheel steer??

i know they feel alot heavier on the road so that would help at higher speeds, but type r's in general dont handdle very well out of the box, impreza's then to understeer anyway but the type r, alot of lads find them hard to deal with at the start of ownership.1 they understeer even worse with the diff open and then to like getting the arse out with all that torque to the rear wheels

What was the handling like in your type r? just wondering how stable it was at 160-180 kms and when you adjusted the dial more did it improve?

I can't imagine GT4 being more stable than my Type-R to be honest.. and mine is still on standard red STi suspension. :ponder2:

my type r always flelt light above a 100 no matter what i done suspension wise and understeered like a pig at the start on cheap tyres, it was only after getting some suspension mods did it start to turn in. for a scooby to really handle well you need a a.l.k, coilovers, rear arb and a good set up.

jp will vouch for this at the mlr trackday a year or two ago just after his car got above done and it was his first track day, we done a few laps in his car and it was awsome and then when'nt out in mine, he couldnt believe how my car(standard) understeered and then oversteered in every corner, now in fairness it was a very wet day but a big difference in cars from more aless the same cars

My ra handles quite well i think but there has been some suspenions mods done with tein coilovers and an edfc and extra strut bars not sure if anything else has been done underneath i was getting no understeer at all really but a controlable amount of oversteer well i did find the limit  but above 100 it does feel light as well

had the same feeling on my classic
i had the same rota wheel as you in a 18 inch
maybe this is a common thing with classics on 18 inch wheels :dontknow:

My Type R had 18's on it when I bought it and handled like a pig. Changed over to 17's soon after and the difference was savage. Classics just dont' feel right with 18's coz of the weight of them!

Cheers folks, on the subject of gt4 v ra i have to say i prefer the celica tbh, miss the sound of the scooby. It feels more planted in the corners the impreza always felt really unsure in the corners especially the front end and just nicer to drive on long journeys, miles better on juice aswell. On the subject of wheels im trying to sort something with the seller of these type.

Have riser blocks sourced but need the proper spoiler but found a celica with the right one so seeing will he swop for my one.
