I was going to do the timing belt when I got it, along with all tensioners and maybe the ooil pump if needed.. but he jsut told me they changed the belt as standard protocol as when inspected it had slight wear, it has 74k miles on it, is this normal to wear at that milege ?

Also he didnt change tensioners etc just belt which I though was strange? would I be best off just doing it all again when I get the car ?

AFAIK service interval for timing belt is 40k miles.
Often people may change a bit early so 74K (2nd change) is reasonable enough.

Personally would always change pulleys and tensioner.
Also, "wear" on belt has a reason like tired pully bearing, or tensioner, or nick on sprockets etc...

If it was my car I would change it for piece of mind.
If the belt really looks new could always put that back on after changing the other bits; however often belt included in kit for same or less money they buying bits separate and may not save you anything anyway.

Fasle economy not to do tensioners & pulleys along with belt. I'd a belt wear out very quick on a car I bought as previous owner never did tensioners/pulleys... could have been catastrophic too

I'd just change the lot if you can afford to do it.
Great peace of mind you just don't know what they did and how good it was it will be always on the back of your mind.
