new impreza sedan 2011.

See thats what happens when people dont take in information if you scroll up a few posts you will that it being a us sedan was already pointed out, plus do you think subaru will go through the whole process of designing a chassis when then can utilize the current one,Obvisiouly if the car is not due for release till nearly 2012 that there will be no genuine photos released till closer to the date,so if its a usdm model and the hawkeye jdm europe models look nothing alike make your previous post contradictary.

Yes I do, when you look at previous models they have gone through the design process over and over again. This is 2 years away IF its real, in which case they will definitely have a redesign by then.

I personally cant see subaru putting more money in the design of a new chassis they had the gc8 chassis for 9 years and changed to the new age the blob and bug are based on the same chassis just facelifted and stiffened up the only radical design change was from the saloon to the hatch, and they already have the new coupe in the pipeline so i cant see them designing a completly new chassis, they might carry out work on the usdm to convert it to sti,

But that makes no reference to the pics. The only real photo they gave is this one:
subaru-impreza-wrx-s-93w.jpg

Which looks nothing like the photoshop job

The other 2 are computer made images:

Actually they changed the chassis slightly in 05 with the wide track blob, then used the same chassis for the hawkeye. now the hatchback. So redesign is in the cards. Even if they use the same chassis, they always change the body panels and never re use old parts like the photoshop picture suggests

the photoshop pics and the other pic posted in the magazine are very close not identical have a look at the rear lights and bumper identical,So with the pics from kayne from the west i say a complety new chassis is out of the question bar a few design tweaks.

So you agree they are more than likely photoshop. That was my point.

Maybe stick up a link to the actual article you read on http://www.autoweek.com/

I didnt stick the photo up for debate,All i was trying to say was there was to be a new sti for 2011,Than you must agree the hawk eye looks nothing like it,I read the article in the aw magazine havent checked the site cheers for sticking the link up

I'll wait to hear from a Subaru source..as for the hatch killing sales its actually been a hit in the US which is their biggest market..the UK and Ireland market was dwindling way before the hatch

Either way if its the Photoshoped one or the computer Gen one, i dont' like either.
I prefer the hatch. I think the Hatch Sti looks the business...I'd have one if i had the money.

The concept though it the way they should go! Its just evil looking :subaru:

I saw that picture 2 years ago when the hatch first broke and people where talking about a sedan sti.....the difference is..the hatch is an official Subaru press release picture..the sedan is the WRX us market sedan with STI bits photo shopped on

who cares its ugly and if subaru keep making ugly cars that we cant tax there going no were

yes the disels are selling ok over here but there never going to sell a sports car again in this country

the way to go is like lotus has done for years, light car small engine for a sports car

I really cant see Subaru bringing out this car in Ireland where they do not sell any Petrol Subarus. Subaru's biggest challenge is not making a saloon STI. They have more pressing concerns like trying to reduce their average emissions over their entire model range. There's no way they are going to bring out a rehashed saloon sti with the same old "dirty" 2.5 engine. If anything, they will introduce a hybrid sub 2.0 turbocharged petrol engine featuring direct injection with mid to high 30mpg. That's what every single car manufacturer in the world is attempting at the moment. EVO reported last month that the EVO XI would be in a similar format to this. Standing still is not an option for Subaru. If they dont wake up soon they will become consigned to the history books. Already manufacturers like Porsche have made great progress in cutting emissions and increasing power. The latest 911 Carerra 2 (3.6) puts out 340 bhp, 225 Co2 and 29 mpg and the TT RS Quattro is even better at 340 bhp and 214 CO2 and 31 mpg. Both are in tax band F which is 1,100 less per year than the current STI.

The only reason Subaru is selling well in the US is because of the Legacy Outback and the Forrester, cheap fuel and low and no motor tax so its not a comparable market to ours.
