Octane Boostaholics
Hey everyone.....

Just bought myself a nice 97 WRX Wagon.
Joined the site cause I have heard you lot know your stuff and would probably be a great source of info to me......

The car I have bought is pretty much standard with a bigger set of wheels etc on it.

I have been told to get it remapped to make it run properly on Irish fuel, but have also been told that it will work better and more efficiently on Octane booster....
Whats your opinions?
Have been told to get a power FC and a few other bits too
Would this be recommended or a SAFC a better option?

Let me know what ya all think.....

Oh and the site looks really good.... Read lots already.... Interesting reading

as said above if it is a jap import a remap should be one of the first things u get done,,,,,, well sorry a good clifford alarm should be ur first priority

oh an welcome to the club :subaru:
get some pics up

it is an import....
Nearly everyone I know swears by the remap..... (normally me included) but the fella I bought it off swears by the octane booster....
now in order to remove the jap limiter do i need anything (ie. SAFC, Power FC) or will remap do that too....

Clifford alarm

Full major Service

Then a remap

in that order I think.

Welcome to the club

Alarm is being given priority at the min.....
its the first thing i want to get sorted...... Dont want some feckin scrote takin my pride and joy off me........

Hi

The power fc's cost is the downside unless you find a second hand unit. Also no need for SAFC. If you find a powerfc you'll need something to control boost. Likes of apexi boost control kit or avcr.

If buying new, Simtek is a far more superior and same cost. Also gets rid of M.A.F. so will have no worries on expensive maf replacements.. And also option to run anti lag and launch control.
